FICHTER: FINANCED BY INDUSTRY PACs AND TWO-TIME DUI OFFENDOR DREW LEWIS
Based on the latest Campaign Finance Report (2004 Cycle 3), Incumbent John Fichter again raises his money almost entirely from Political Action Committees representing the Industries that he oversees on his legislative committees. This financing comes from outside Montgomery County. Only two contributions came from individuals, including a whopping $2,000 contribution from one-time Republican power broker and two-time convicted DUI offendor Drew Lewis. Another Fichter contribution this cycle comes from a PAC linked to a former State Representative who had to give up his seat when he was accused by federal authorities of extortion.
