IS INCUMBENT JOHN FICHTER (R-70) WORKING FOR US?

Gordon Outraises Fichter in Individual Contributions!
Gordon Also Outraises Fichter in Montgomery County Contributions!

The first set of campaign finance reporting cycle data since Matthew entered the race is now available! Interestingly, Matthew has outraised incumbent State Representive John Fichter in two important categories in his first reporting cycle:

- individual citizen contributors; and
- Montgomery County contributors.

Based on the latest publicly available report, John Fichter raised only $500, less than 5% of his total, from citizens; and only one of those citizens is from Montgomery County.

In fact, only 2 citizens contributed as individuals to Fichter's campaign.

In comparison, 100% of Matthew Gordon's receipts in the same report cycle came from individuals. And most of that money was from citizens in Montgomery County.

POP QUIZ:

QUESTION: Why do you think 95% of Fichter's funds came from Corporate PACs, and from outside Montgomery County?

Hint: Fichter serves on the Insurance Committee, the Consumer Affairs Committee, and the Health & Human Services Committee.

BONUS QUESTION: Whose interests do you think Fichter is representing on those committees? The Insurance Industry, or the Public? The Energy and Telecommunications Industries, or the Consumer?

Hint: Fichter voted in 2003 to increase residential and business telephone rates to consumers by $4 billion, BEYOND allowed rises to account for inflation, against the advice of the Office of the Consumer Advocate of Pennsylvania.

We think the pie chart above gives another clue as to who is most appreciative of Mr. Fichter's services.

It should also arouse concern among Montgomery County residents.

The next time you pay your energy bill, your cable TV bill, and your health insurance bill, you'll know who to thank.

John Fichter
