JANUARY 26, 2007: SOME GOOD NEWS

Perhaps there is some hope that democracy and the rule of law will once again spread across America, with John Conyers shining a harsh light in George W Bush's continued assaults on our Constitution:

Congress Announces First Investigation into Bush's Crimes

HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE Oversight Hearing on: "Presidential Signing Statements under the Bush Administration: A Threat to Checks and Balances and the Rule of Law?"

10:15 a.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2007, Room 2141 Rayburn House Office Building

THANK Congressman John Conyers: (202) 225-5126 , John.Conyers@mail.house.gov

Now if only the Democrats would get some sense and put Bush on notice that they will refuse to fund his mess in Iraq....and if they would investigate whether he deliberately cooked the intelligence on Iraq WMD to mislead Congress, the American public, the UN, and the world....and if they would investigate his backroom support of the war profiteers.....surely these are high crimes worthy of impeachment- particularly in light of the toll on innocent life, the misuse of our tax dollars, the destruction of our economy that will be wrought by the high debt he is incurring on our children, the destabilization of the world that his incompetent blundering into Iraq has caused, the isolation and reduction in stature he has caused to our country, and, most of all, his contempt for the Constitution and the will of the people, evident from the moment he fought to steal the election of 2000. To expand on the Natalie Maines' statement years ago- George W Bush is the shame of America.
